Title: Assembly Technician 
Location: Redmond, WA 
Pay Scale: $27/hr - $31/hr
Duration: 1 year contract, long term extensions and full-time conversion possible 
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to support our optical systems and satellite manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, with experience in laboratory settings and maintenance of high-precision equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
• Assist in the calibration and testing of optical systems and satellite components.
• Conduct quality control inspections and document test results.
• Maintain and troubleshoot optical testing setups and associated hardware.
• Ensure compliance with ESD and cleanroom protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inventory of tools and supplies.
• Participate in training programs and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment for  electrical/mechanical assembly or high precision optical products.
• Familiarity with optical testing methods and equipment (interferometers, power meters, fiber optic architecture)
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and laboratory equipment.
• Strong understanding of ESD control measures and cleanroom standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills: (Experience with 1 or more of the below requirements is a plus)

• Experience with satellite systems and related technologies.
• Experience in Fiber Optics handling and splicing.
• Knowledge of CAD software (NX UGS) and technical documentation practices. Familiarity with PLM Software (Teamcenter) a plus.
• Certification in ESD control or clean room operations is a plus.
• Laser Safety Officer Certification
