Location: NJ - Morris Plains (2980) Classification: Temporary Job Summary To be a great Bookseller, you provide excellent customer service which is friendly, genuine, and professional, and you always put the customers first. You create engaging and interactive shopping experiences by sharing your knowledge, helping customers choose books and gifts, and maintaining tidy, vibrant displays. You support the cluster structure and work collaboratively for the betterment of all stores in the cluster. What You Do Create a welcoming environment for customers, sharing your love and knowledge of books and making relevant recommendations. Ensure a vibrant bookstore through execution of basics—commitment to presentation, commercial sense, detail, localization, and theatricality. Leverage key campaigns (e.g., Our Monthly Picks, pre‑orders) to hand‑sell and engage every customer. Continuously educate yourself on books and the industry to enhance the customer experience. Identify key titles and collaborate with your store team to tailor merchandise to the community. Maintain neat, tidy displays to make the store always shoppable and inviting. Help with events and community outreach. Protect company assets by adhering to all processes that control shrink, expense, and payroll. Recognize and assist customers and employees with urgency and care. Model expected behaviors to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures. Work on the selling floor, which requires physical activity such as prolonged standing, repetitive bending, lifting, climbing, and may include café duties when needed.
