The Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for all accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, financial statements, budgets, cash forecasts, and file maintenance for applicable entities.

Detail oriented, hands-on professional with the ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers, subcontractors/vendors, and employees. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

· Oversight of the Accounts Payable processes, including:

· Audit of PO process

· Audit invoice entry to A/P system

· Processing of supplier payments

· Administering automatic payments

· Reconciliation of supplier statements

· Oversight of the Billing/Accounts Receivable processes, including:

· Production monthly recurring billing

· Application of customer payments

· Collections

· Process bi-weekly payroll entries

· Manage employee benefits program

· Bank reconciliations

· Prepare general ledger journal entries

· Preparation and analysis of monthly Financial Statements, including reconciliation of all Balance Sheet Accounts

· Process intercompany billings

· Administration of corporate credit card charges

· Assist management in budgeting process

· Forecast weekly cash requirements

· Prepare personal property, sales, and income tax workpapers

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field

· CPA required

· Proven background in commercial/industrial property maintenance, construction management, rail/barge freight, or a related field

· Minimum 5 years practical accounting experience

· Minimum of 2 years managerial experience in an accounting environment

· Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

· Experience with ERP and accounting software systems required. Experience with database software, QuickBooks Enterprise, Oracle NetSuite, and ADP Workforce Now a plus.

· Positive attitude and team player

· Highly organized with strong emphasis on self-motivation and analytical skills

· Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients

· Ability to identify and manage priorities

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Capable of multi-tasking and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

· Exhibits highly developed ability to follow-up on multiple projects

· Exhibits confidence, ambition, self-motivation and the ability to work independently

· Exhibits keen problem solving and listening skills

· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel (including VLookups, Pivot Tables, etc.)

· Willingness to work primarily in an office environment
