Tax Manager, State & Local Tax (Income / Franchise) - Remote Option

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a leading tax firm, providing compliance and consulting services for multi-state clients in the investment sector. Responsibilities include reviewing tax calculations, managing client relationships, and mentoring staff. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in state income tax return preparation or review, holds relevant professional credentials, and possesses strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in compliance and consulting projects for multi-state alternative investment clients (hedge funds, private equity, real estate).
2. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver industry-specific knowledge and solutions.
3. Review state income tax returns and related tax calculations.
4. Build and maintain client relationships; supervise and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum five years of recent experience in state income tax return preparation or review, with knowledge of multi-state tax issues.
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; professional credentials such as CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or MTX are required or must be obtained within one year of employment.
3. Experience with pass-through entities and relevant state tax concepts.
4. Strong relationship-building, communication, and team management skills.
