Position Description The Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, which is part of the Program in Public Health at the University of California, Irvine seeks a Specialist for a genetic analysis research project. The person selected for this position will work closely with the principal investigator to: Assist with running pipelines on a Unix-based high performance compute cluster (HPC) for rare and common variant analysis, polygenic risk score calculations, and visualization of the results; Writing and running code in the R programming language; Assist with data management and data cleaning; Contribute towards team meetings, interpretation and presentation of results, and writing of a manuscript UC Irvine is one of ten campuses of the highly regarded University of California system. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Applicants should hold an M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Computational Biology or Statistics/Computer Science with an emphasis in bioinformatics, computational biology or statistical genetics.
