Compass Government Solutions is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to provide services at the Naval Medical Center  in  Portsmouth, Virginia . A Biomedical Equipment Technician installs, maintains, and repairs medical equipment like ventilator and monitors in hospitals and clinics. Currently NMC Portsmouth has over 13,400 pieces of medical equipment. Including: defibrillators, pumps, wound vacuums, and ventilators. Under minimal supervision, provide expert-level experience in the repair, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment, instrumentation, and support systems used at NMCP and its outlying clinics. 

This opportunity is part of a  proposal effort . We are currently accepting applications from experienced candidates to be considered if the contract is awarded.  Incumbents are encouraged to apply.

Job Duties:

• Respond to service calls within the hospital as assigned.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance on biomedical equipment, providing service to drive customer satisfaction and patient safety. 

Qualifications

Education:

At least one of the following -

• Associate's Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering; 
• Participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; 
• High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment. 

Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician 

Certification:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
